I believe that the Bible is inspired by YAHWEH (JEHOVAH) The God of Judaism and Christianity, The Creator of the Universe. Hereafter simply referred to as God

Though the Bible is inspired, except in rare cases, God did not sit the authors down and say “take dictation”.

People speak of inerrancy or infallibility of Scripture. God is unimaginably powerful. I believe Scripture says exactly what God wanted it to say. Whether Job was a real person, or if the story of Job is a parable is irrelevant. The story is there, so God wanted it there for an important reason, so you can take it to the bank.

Matthew and John were both with Jesus from the beginning of Jesus’ earthly ministry. Yet both of their Gospels are markedly different.

It is like several people seeing a movie. If you were to ask them what they remembered about the movie, many would agree on some points. But they would almost all remember different scenes. And even remember the same scenes a bit differently. This is not to say that if they wrote down what they saw, they are not telling the truth.

Christianity is not a “religion”

I believe that Christianity was not supposed to be a religion. Religion is seeking to please God by doing certain things such as rituals and behavior.
As practiced by Jesus and the apostles, Christianity is a spiritual program — a relationship with the Creator of the Universe. Behavior that pleases God comes upon you as you “hang out” with Him.
This doesn’t sound like a religion to me: For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. (Acts 15:28-29)
No rituals, nothing. Just common sense and minimal decent behavior.
It was a spiritual program until the devil found he could not feed us to the lions fast enough, so he turned it into a religion and killed it deader than a doornail for centuries. Just like in the old testament, there was only a remnant of true believers. And there still is. Just a remnant.
